Privacy Policy
Our approach to collecting, using and protecting personal data, including children's data and parental consent, with reference to India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
1. Who we are
Unlock IQ Institute Pvt. Ltd. is a private limited company registered in India that conducts online maths and reasoning olympiads, quizzes and assessments for students of Classes 1–11, and sells related study material. We are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here.
2. Whose data we process
- Students. Many participants are under 18. For a participant under 18, registration is made by a parent or lawful guardian (or by the school with parental consent), and we record that consent before processing the child's data. We collect only what the programme needs: the child's name, class, school and city, exam responses and scores, and — for proctored exams — the limited exam-integrity data described in the children's privacy notice. We do not track children, serve them targeted advertising or profile them for marketing.
- Parents and guardians. Name, mobile number and email for registration, payment, results and support.
- School coordinators and teachers. Name, designation, school, mobile and email for programme coordination.
- Website visitors. This site sets no tracking cookies, runs no advertising and currently uses no analytics.
3. What we collect, and why

4. Personalised practice papers
When you buy a practice paper, the download link is sent to the email address you give, and the PDF is personalised with the student's name, your mobile number and email, and the order ID — printed on every page — and encrypted with your mobile number as the password. This makes each copy traceable to its order, which is how we keep the papers affordable and deter mass redistribution. We keep a log of each order, email and download (order ID, names, mobile, email, payment reference, paper, time and IP address). We do not sell or share this log.
5. Who we share data with
- Cashfree Payments and Razorpay (payment gateways) — process payments under their own privacy policies; we receive the payment ID, amount and the details you type into the payment form.
- Service providers who host or deliver our services — our exam platform; Railway (hosting for the practice-paper store and the school enquiry form); GitHub Pages (hosting for this website, which collects no personal data itself); Brevo (sending order and enquiry emails); Google Workspace (our email); and WhatsApp (messages you ask for). They process data only to provide their service to us.
- Schools — if a student registers through their school, that school receives the student's registration and results.
- Authorities — only where the law requires it.
- We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
6. Where data is stored
Some of our service providers store data outside India (for example, hosting and email providers with data centres in the USA or Europe). Payment data is processed by our payment gateways under RBI rules. We will not transfer personal data to any country the Government of India restricts under the DPDP Act.
7. Your rights
You (and a parent or guardian on behalf of a child) can: access a summary of the personal data we hold; correct or update it; withdraw consent at any time (which may mean we cannot continue a programme); ask for erasure once the purpose is complete and no legal retention applies; and nominate someone to exercise these rights for you. Write to us at the grievance address below; we respond within 7 working days.
8. Security
HTTPS everywhere; encrypted storage; access limited to staff who need it; no sensitive data in email; personalised PDFs are AES-256 encrypted. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
9. Cookies and analytics
This website uses no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics. Essential cookies may be set by the exam platform to keep you logged in during a test, and by our payment gateways during checkout.
10. Changes
We will post updates here and, for material changes, tell registered parents by email.
